Morgen, 11. Juni, 19 Uhr in den Uferhallen zeigen wir im Rahmen des Filmprogramms: Hao Jingbans Portrait der Ballhäuser Beijings “An Afternoon Ball” und “There is a strong wind in Beijing” von Ju Anqi. Für “There is a strong wind in Beijing” fuhr Ju Anqi mit einer 16mm-Videokamera rastlos durch die Stadt, um dann jeden, den er traf, mit der Frage „Findest du Beijing windig?” zu irritieren.

Das MoMA über “There’s a Strong Wind in Beijing” (1999): ”A gonzo camera crew roams the streets of China’s capital, asking random passersby, “Is the wind strong in Beijing?” This ambiguous question provokes a startling variety of responses that expose social and cultural anxieties within contemporary China. The film implicitly poses a larger question about the role of intrusiveness and spontaneity in both documentary filmmaking and everyday social interactions”(Film in Mandarin mit englischen Untertiteln).
